“There’s a big shocker between Ben and Amy,” Raisa hints. “Just remember, Ben kept insisting on Amy marrying him, and she might actually do it. That’s all I’m saying!”

Besides a possible walk down the aisle for Secret Life’s token 15-year-old lovebirds, what else is going to go down for Ben and Amy’s classmates? “There’s a bunch of drama going on with my [character's] dad,” Raisa adds, “so there’s more about that. And of course there’s drama with Ricky. There’s a little twist with my character, as well. Just remember, my character said in the first episode, ‘No one ever takes advantage of me,’ so really think about that line…. I know a lot of people will appreciate the little twists that they are bringing into these characters.”

“I hadn’t even thought about being a teenage role model until a couple of days ago when someone brought it up in an interview,” says the actress, who stars in “Secret Life of An American Teenager” (airing its finale 8 tonight on ABC Family).

“I suddenly find myself very inspirational to a lot of girls.”

In the series, which premiered in June, Woodley plays high school student Amy Juergens, whose tryst at band camp resulted in a pregnancy. Amy’s known as “the good girl” around school, never getting into trouble and bringing home stellar grades.

Suddenly, she’s thrust into a sharp curve in life. This girl who had a bright future is now in the family way.

Her situation certainly shows how far television has come. Forty years ago, even married couples couldn’t be seen sharing the same bed. Now, a series is focusing on the plight of an unwed teenage mother-to-be.

The stigma of only “bad girls” getting pregnant is also being viewed in another light.

With high-profile teen pregnancies from Jamie Lynn Spears to Bristol Palin in the headlines during recent months, Amy’s bun-in-the-oven predicament is art reflective of reality.

Woodley says she feels “a lot of pressure” being in such a role. “I want the (pregnant) girls in America to feel like they are not alone,” she says.

At 17, Woodley says she’d handle an unexpected pregnancy differently than Amy. “She is more introverted,” Woodley says. “I would be more vocal about it. She’s more, ‘leave me alone.’ If I were pregnant, I’d immediately tell my friends and tell my family. I would seek all the help and support I could get around me.”

Woodley says she and her mother have talked about the subject. “It’s such an emotional hardship to take on,” she says of the extended family’s role.

She has been acting since age 6. Her father is a school principal, and her mother is a school counselor. She was born in Simi Valley, Calif.

She’s still a teenager and lives at home with her parents.

What’s that like these days? “It’s an adjustment,” Woodley admits. “I’m a senior in high school. It’s such a great point in my life.

“I’m at a turning point. I’m becoming a young woman. At first, it was hard to adjust to all this.

“I’ve had to figure out how to juggle my job and my school and my friends. I don’t want to miss out on a thing at this age.”

Johnson, 16, will make a repeat visit on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” She first appeared on the syndicated talk show after she won the all-around gold at the 2007 World Championships. (Click here for local time and channel.)

Johnson also said yes to appearing on “Just Say No,” the mid-season finale of “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” on ABC Family. Johnson plays a girl Ricky (Daren Kagasoff) flirts with in the school hallway. The show airs at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Johnson, 16, will play herself in the episode, as a girl who flirts with Ricky (played by Daren Kagasoff) in the school hallway, the cable network revealed.

In an earlier interview with Us Weekly, Johnson said she was a fan of the show. Upon hearing that, “Teenager” producers reached out to the gymnast with an offer to be on the show.

The episode airs Tuesday, September 9 at 8 PM EST on ABC Family.

During the Olympic games in Beijing, Johnson took home the gold medal for women’s balance beam, as well as the individual all-around silver medal.

The hit series is slated to return with 12 new episodes in January 2009.

Johnson isn’t the only U.S. Olympian headed to a popular tween show. As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com on Wednesday, beach volleyball gold medalist Misty May-Treanor will make a cameo on the Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

The show revolves around a single injudicious move made by a 15-year-old girl at band camp. In the world of “Secret Life,” as opposed to that of “Gossip Girl” or another new series about adolescent life, BBC America’s “Skins” — there are no real safety zones. Bad things happen to children when they are waiting for a ride at night; bad things happen when they are sent off to learn “Rhapsody in Blue.”

The ostensible horror at the center of the show is an unplanned pregnancy. The first time Amy Jurgens (Shailene Woodley) has sex, or apparently even considers it, she gets herself into trouble with Ricky (Daren Kagasoff), a sophomore she barely knows. Ricky is a callous drummer who navigates his suburban high school as if it were a wing added to Hugh Hefner’s house. No lively sex drive is permitted to originate from a healthy place.

“The Secret Life of the American Teenager” comes from Brenda Hampton, creator of “7th Heaven,” a drama of Christian values similarly steeped in moralizing and distinctly creepy forms of titillation. That series, set amid a minister’s large family, was a decade-long effort in fear- mongering about premarital sex yet betrayed no compunction in having a girl ask her older brother if she could use him to work on her kissing because no other boys she knew were tall enough.

“Secret Life” has a relationship to Christian values that is marginally more clear-headed, but it presents a faith-based point of view without upholding it unequivocally. Grace (Megan Park), the school’s pretty blond and a vocal proselytizer for her celibate lifestyle, is depicted as gullible and out of it. When she visits a family-planning clinic to try to stop Amy from getting the abortion she is considering, Grace is made to seem as if she were pursuing a harebrained scheme from an episode of “I Love Lucy.” It should be said that Grace is hardly rewarded for her devotion to the sacred. Early on, she learns that her boyfriend, Jack, was dating her only at his pastor-father’s behest, to ensure that her family’s money would keep flowing to the church.

Money and property otherwise play no part as they do so centrally on “Gossip Girl.” “Secret Life” is set in a suburban no-place where jetting to Aspen from Teterboro is not the default experience of spring break. What distinguishes the two shows, ultimately, is a very different understanding of shame’s provenance.
